Strolling through the city, I am attracted to No Man‘s Land, to rough places apart from designed city structures. I find them in the middle of Berlin, while they seem completely out of the way. I love this rampant vegetation on the former death strip by the Berlin Wall or the enchanted wilderness at abandoned urban structures waiting for future profitable use: Nobody‘s land or land for everyone who cares.

Most places stay like this for quite a long time, whereas some of these long grown natural green corners around useless railway tracks now have been straightened into neat and tidy parks, clean and safe. For me they lost all their charm – but I will seek for another No Man‘s Land…
